Catharine L. Kauffman, M.D., F.A.C.P

Dr. C. Lisa Kauffman received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University after obtaining degrees in biology and engineering from M.I.T. Following her Immunodermatology Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, she completed a second fellowship in Dermatopathology at the University of Colorado.

Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Kauffman was Chief of Dermatology for Georgetown University Hospital for ten years. She was responsible for management of the dermatology clinic and for starting a Dermatopathology service.

As a Georgetown University Professor and Dermatology Residency Program Director, she was responsible for medical student and resident teaching, as well as the development of an active research program in dermatology. She is fluent in French and speaks conversational German. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Royal Society of Medicine and the American College of Physicians.

 

Dr. Kauffman is an author of over 60 articles and book chapters in academic and professional publications. She is relied on as an expert and has been interviewed by CNN, The Washington Post, and other popular publications. She has been listed in Washingtonian Magazines’, “Top Doctors” and the DC Consumer checkbook.
